I am a Research Associate at the University of Manchester using machine learning methods to understand transcriptional regulation. I am currently using LLMs to extract motifs and features from 5’ and 3’ UTRs that influence mRNA decay rates, location, translational efficiency, etc. in early drosophila development.

During my PhD I leveraged single-nucleus RNA-seq to identify cell-type specific transcriptional changes associated with autosomal dominant and other risk variants in Alzheimer Disease. I also constructed gene regulatory networks (GRNs) for specific microglial and astrocytic cell states associated with disease.
